Director of Social Marketing
Jason Boucher
Whether you’re talking about an industry-changing shift or simply a memorable event, it’s an exciting honor to reveal “I was there!” For Jason Boucher, however, that announcement is redundant, because you probably got the news from him in the first place. A trailblazing early adopter of social media storytelling for brands, Jason is always on the lookout for fresh perspectives, insightful anecdotes, and new ways to connect and engage.
Background
He was involved in an early version of the Social Media Club and served as president of the New Hampshire chapter not long after its inception. Prior to joining our team, Jason (or simply “Jay” to his friends and colleagues) spent over a decade leading social media campaigns at the University of New Hampshire as Director of Social Media. He was an essential piece of the creative team that shared stories of student success, innovative research and Wildcat pride. This included important contributions to the integrated marketing team for undergraduate admissions as well as being a frequent traveler and speaker at #HESM conferences. Jay is also a big fan of hockey and spent two years calling the shots for UNH Hockey as the play-by-play radio announcer.
Education: Master of Business Administration with a Marketing concentration from the University of New Hampshire (UNH); Advanced Social Media Strategy certificate from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Bachelor of Arts in History at Franklin Pierce University
Passions
Jay is not ashamed to be labeled a music nerd, because labels will come in handy later when you’re discussing his curated collection of albums that range from classic alternative and new jazz to retro indie and ahead-of-their-time songwriters. If he’s ever missing, you can probably find him in a nearby record store, carefully sifting through the bins for another vinyl gem to add to his sonic treasure trove. This passion for sound isn’t limited to his listening room: Jay also loves live music and averages about 50 visits to concert venues and music clubs each year. Other than music, he spends a lot of time with his cat and Instagramming nature. Jay also loves to kayak, swim, and travel north to Montreal to see his beloved Canadiens try to win another Coupe Stanley.
