The PLUS Company – an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to maximize their independence – recently welcomed Dia Kalakonas to its Board of Directors. Kalakonas is the senior director of communications and client engagement at Cookson Communications and as a board member, she’ll work with the organization’s staff and volunteers to find opportunities to elevate the stories of individuals who have maximized their independence through the range of services offered by The PLUS Company and its community partners.
“I am delighted for the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors for an organization that makes such a powerful difference in the lives of the individuals it serves,” said Kalakonas. “I look forward to sharing my expertise in communications and marketing with The PLUS Company team and providing advice on how they can increase the organization’s visibility in the greater Nashua area.”
As Senior Director of Communications and Client Engagement for Cookson Communications, Kalakonas has worked with hundreds of organizations over her nearly seven years with the agency, guiding clients through communications strategy and implementation. Prior to joining Cookson Communications, she served in marketing, communications and public relations roles with New England College, Catholic Medical Center and the Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business with a concentration in Marketing from the University of New Hampshire and her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Kalakonas previously served on the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester and the NH Ambulatory Surgery Association Board of Directors.

The PLUS Company, Inc., an acronym for People Learning Useful Skills, is a community-based services organization based in Nashua for people with developmental disabilities. The organization offers a supportive, customized environment to assist individuals with disabilities to develop home and life skills, educational, social and work skills to empower individuals to maximize their independence and become vital members of their communities.
