Well, here we are.
It’s December, there is snow on the ground, and the semester is coming to a close. As excited as I am to graduate from the University of New Hampshire in Manchester, it is a bittersweet time of year. College ends, a consistent schedule comes to a close, and my time here at Cookson Strategic Communications (CSC) also concludes. I’ve had so much fun this year, despite some challenges, that I think these past few months are a testament to my own determination and will to finish what I’ve started. Working at CSC every week for the past three months has been the best experience I’ve ever had.
I’ve learned so much since the beginning of this semester. There were turkey hats on Thanksgiving, bacon slap bracelets, TechOut water bottles, photos around town, and a ton of fun. From event photography to video creation for the New Hampshire High Technology Council, the number of things I was able to do, the connections I was able to make, and experiences I’ve been a part of this year have been absolutely priceless.
If you read my blog from a few months back, I wrote about my first few days at CSC and how I wanted to learn more about the public relations sector and how surprised I was when I discovered how diverse CSC’s clients were. Well, since then we’ve become even more diverse! This place has been such an amazing experience for me to discover what I want to do and how the field actually works, and now I have the know-how to go into the real world with the experience I’ve received at CSC. From setting up social media content calendars and sponsoring content, to posting events online, and even realizing that the media outlets here in the state of New Hampshire are very wide in variety, I have the confidence and know how to do it all.
As my last day comes to a close, and the semester along with it, I will never forget the time I spent here and the fun we’ve had! Now, of course, there have been bad days, like when my video project didn’t go the way I would have hoped, or when I came to work only to discover that my laptop fried and there was absolutely no hope for it. Even with these little hiccups along the way, everyone at CSC was so accommodating and helpful and they couldn’t have made my experience any better.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible! From the UNH Internship and Career Office here in Manchester to my advisor Anthony Tenczar, and of course everyone at CSC; Matt, Dia, Jen, Muffy, Meredith, Teresa, Kathleen, and Deb. Thank you all!
