Matt Cookson joins Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce board of directors

Matt Cookson, president and CEO of Cookson Strategic Communications (CSC) – a visibility-focused communications consulting agency with expertise in public relations, social media, marketing, design, and branding – has joined the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Cookson is serving a three-year term with the Chamber.

Cookson founded Cookson Strategic Communications in 2010 and now leads a staff of nine who serve many diverse organizations in a variety of sectors, including education, technology, healthcare and nonprofit. From 2005–2010, Cookson served as associate vice chancellor for external relations at the University System of New Hampshire (USNH), directing communications and outreach efforts for the System office, board of trustees and chancellor.

He has significant strategic communications and consulting experience in product and service launches, integration of PR tools and messaging, and corporate communications. Over Cookson’s career, his communications roles have included serving as director of public affairs at PC Connection, public information director for New England College, and spokesperson for USNH. Additionally, he has served as executive director of the NH High Tech Council for over seven years. Cookson is regularly tapped for unique special projects that require a combination of research, business intelligence, organizational management, and communications skills.

In addition to the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Board, he currently serves on the following boards: Granite State Management & Resources, Northeast Delta Dental, the NH High Tech Council (ex officio) and New Hampshire Scholars.
