Matt Cookson Honored in New Hampshire 200 List as One of the Most Influential Business Leaders

Year-long research initiative by NH Business Review editors reveals leaders across several industries throughout the state

Matt Cookson, president and CEO of Cookson Communications, was honored by NH Business Review as one of the most influential Media and Marketing leaders in the Granite State for the second time on the New Hampshire 200 list. The New Hampshire 200 is the product of a year-long research initiative by the editors of NH Business Review, resulting in an insightful and engaging look at the state’s most influential business leaders across major industries.

“I am so humbled to receive this prestigious honor for the second time for doing work that I enjoy,” said Matt Cookson, president and CEO of Cookson Communications. “I absolutely love every aspect of what I do but more importantly, it’s all about the great team we have in-house and the wonderful partners that we are able to support through our marketing, communications and creative efforts.”

Cookson has worked in communications roles in government, higher education and the private and nonprofit sectors. Prior to launching his company in 2010, his professional positions have included press secretary for a member of Congress, assistant director of government affairs at UConn, director of public affairs at PC Connection, associate vice chancellor at the University System of NH and executive director of the NH Tech Alliance. He is also a 2003 Leadership NH alumnus and completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business entrepreneurship program. Cookson also gives time back through board service with the Greater Manchester Chamber, Northeast Delta Dental and the Association for Corporate Development. He also serves on the advisory board of CASA NH.

The New Hampshire 200, first launched two years ago, recognizes business owners and leaders from all corners of the state across major industries, including architecture/engineering/construction, business and professional services, education, energy, finance, healthcare, hospitality, law, manufacturing, media/marketing, nonprofit, real estate, retail and technology. The New Hampshire 200 book includes personal, career and industry insight for readers, such as business lessons learned, challenges, predictions and more. This prestigious list started in 2019 on a bi-annual basis and Cookson has been named to the list both times since its inception.

“We are pleased to announce this year’s New Hampshire 200 list, which spotlights a truly remarkable group of individuals leading the Granite State in their respective industries,” said Jeff Feingold, editor of NH Business Review. “This list has been months in the making and has involved extensive research, interviews, and communication with our contacts in regional business circles. We look forward to providing the people of New Hampshire this inspiring look at the individuals who are making an immeasurable positive impact on the state, and to honor Matt in our 2021 New Hampshire 200.”

NH Business Review celebrated the New Hampshire 200 during a reception on December 9 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown and will also be publishing a New Hampshire 200 book detailing the accomplishments of the recipients.
