Julie Demers joins the Cookson team
Cookson Communications welcomes Julie Demers as the newest member of its growing team and promotes Dia Kalakonas to senior director of communications and client engagement.
As Project Manager, Demers will initially be taking a lead role on the Sector Partnership Initiative (SPI) workforce development grant and supporting some key membership functions for the New Hampshire High Tech Council, which is managed by CSC. As Senior Director of Communications and Client Engagement, Kalakonas will play a leadership role in managing client relations and overseeing the company’s public relations activities.
“Julie is an innovative, creative and enthusiastic professional with a strong passion for workforce development and a dedication to her community,” said Matt Cookson, president and CEO of CSC. “These qualities, and her past experience in public relations, higher education and with the chamber of commerce, make her a great fit for our team and an ideal person to manage this important workforce grant that will directly benefit the tech sector.”
Demers received her Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from High Point University and is currently completing her Master of Public Administration at the University of New Hampshire. Demers has worked as program director for the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, as public relations program coordinator for the University of New Hampshire and is co-owner of Barre Life, LLC.
Dia Kalakonas promoted
“We are very pleased to move Dia into this new role with greater responsibilities and client relationship management. She has been a valued member of our team and I am confident that she will thrive in this new role,” Cookson said.
Kalakonas received her Bachelor of Arts in Business with a concentration in Marketing from the University of New Hampshire and her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Prior to her promotion, Kalakonas served as director of strategic communications with CSC for over three and a half years. Her background includes roles as the director of public relations and communications at New England College, marketing and communications at Catholic Medical Center, and operations and marketing at a multi-specialty surgical center in Bedford.
